Slow Cooker Pot Roast with Homemade Gravy
Slow Cooker Pot Roast with Homemade Gravy is a comforting, hands-off recipe that delivers melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. A well-seasoned beef roast is slow-cooked with onions and aromatic herbs until it’s perfectly tender. The rich, savory gravy is made from the flavorful drippings, thickened to perfection, and poured over the roast for a hearty, satisfying meal. Perfect for cozy family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • (3 lbs) Chuck Roast, Beef
  • (1, chopped) Medium Yellow Onion
  • (1 cup) Beef Broth
  • (2) Bay Leaves
  • (1 tbsp) Minced Garlic
  • (2 tsp) Italian Seasoning
  • (To Taste) Salt & Pepper
  • (1 tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
  • (2 tbsp) Butter
  • (1 tbsp) Flour
  • (1 Cup) Cooking Liquids

Directions

  • Create a bed of chopped onions in the bottom of your slow cooker. If you would like to add other veggies, such as carrots or potatoes, you would also do that now.
  • Place the roast on top. Add beef stock, garlic, seasonings, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Close the lid and cook for 7-8 hours on low, for best results.
  • Once your meat is done, carefully remove it from the pot and set aside. Find and discard bay leaves.
  • Ladle out around a cup of liquid from the slow cooker.
  • In a sauce pan on medium-low heat, melt your butter until bubbling.
  • Add your flour, whisk until your roux is a golden brown.
  •  While whisking, add your liquid. Cook until thickened.
